Paul's Testimony and the Reproof of Apostates

1 Timothy 1:12-20

1
Chapter 1
12 I thank the one who strengthened me, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he considered me faithful, having put me into ministry, 13 formerly a blasphemer and persecutor and insulter; but I was shown mercy, because being ignorant I did it in unbelief, 14 But the grace of our Lord abounded exceedingly with faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. 15 Faithful is the word and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am first. 16 But through me Christ Jesus might show his complete patience as an example for those who are about to believe in him for eternal life. 17 But to the King of the ages, incorruptible, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory to the ages of the ages. Amen. 18 This is the commandment that I entrust to you, child Timothy, according to the preceding prophecies about you, that you might war in them the good warfare, 19 having faith and a good conscience, which some, having thrust away, concerning the faith suffered shipwreck; 20 of whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I handed over to Satan so that they might be disciplined not to blaspheme.
